How to Find an FHA Approved Condominium Complex in CT

In order to determine if a condominium complex is currently FHA approved, access HUD’s FHA approved condominium web site at https://entp.hud.gov/idapp/html/condlook.cfm or Google “FHA condominiums” (it is typically the first result). 

This condominium search page allows someone to search for FHA-approved condominium projects by the name of the condominium association, the city/state, and via other variables. 

Since slight variations in the name of the condominium can result in a complex not showing up properly in the results, it is advised to search for all condominiums in a particular town or city.  The results will display alphabetically and a searcher can easily scroll through to determine if their complex is FHA Approved. 

Note that many complexes appear on the list that were FHA approved but have now expired status.  After searching by town, scroll through the results to see if the complex you are interested in is on the list.  If it does not show up, it is not currently FHA approved.  If it does show up, scroll to the far right hand column to see if the complex is expired or will expire shortly.

Connecticut Financing Update and Today's Mortgage Rates 2/24/2013

Mortgage rates inched up compared to recent rates.  Overall the rates are still in 6 month high levels and current homeowners probably should spend some time this weekend talking about a possible refinance.  I have been telling my clients to lock in their rates if they are going to close within the next few weeks as the trend has been upward with rates.  The fed is supposed to be publicly talking next week so it is going to be important to listen to them to see what they have to say which will most likely effect interest rates. Everyone in the financial industry has also been talking about how the Italian elections could cause some movements in US markets.
