Connecticut Financing Update and Today's Mortgage Rates 11/30/2014

Home mortgage interest rates have dropped even further.  Rates look very good at these low levels and it’s time to jump into refinancing your existing mortgage or purchasing a new home with Realtor Judy’s expertise.  The 10 year is exactly the same as it was last week at 2.23.  If you were to take a look a closer look at the interest rates then you would see that there has been an upward trend going back to May of 2013.  Anyone looking to close within the next short term period then you might be better off locking into a rate now.

 Conventional 15 year fixed - 3.5% - APR 3.594%

 Conventional 5/1 ARM - 3.25% - APR 3.167%

 Conventional 7/1 ARM - 3.5% - APR 3.665%

According to Movoto, Westport has the Highest Quality of life in Connecticut

Movoto, a real estate listing website founded in 2005,  recently ranked the top ten Connecticut towns. Seven of these communities are in Fairfield County, and Westport  ranked number one in the highest overall quality of life.

"This coastal town in Fairfield County has previously been named one of the 10 wealthiest in the U.S. Clearly, with a median household income of $150,771, the highest median home price in the state at $1,010,400, and a median rent price of $1,468 (second only to Darien's), this is still true today.
Westport didn't just rank well because of its money; it also scored well for the lowest student-teacher ratio in our ranking, just 11 to 1, and lots of amenities-places like the Westport Country Playhouse, Sherwood Island State Park, Compo Beach, a bustling farmers market, and the Coffee An' Donut Shop on Main Street. All of this gave Westport the best score for overall quality of life of any of the places we looked at.

To top it off, Westport had some of the best weather in the state, with a high average summer temperature of 72 and an air quality score of just 35. Rates remain about the same compared to last week.  As a preferred lender for many Realtors, I noticed that home purchase inquiries picked up for me this week, which is evidence that the fall market is still very strong.  Rates are very attractive at these low levels and it’s time to jump in to refinance your existing mortgage or purchase a new home with Realtor Judy’s help.  The 10 year is currently at 2.32.  If you were to take a look a closer look at the interest rates then you would see that there has been an upward trend going back to May of 2013.  Anyone looking to close within the next short term period then you might be better off locking into a rate now.
